ART FILLED 2011 DIARY TO BE LAUNCHED IN OCTOBER

Jot down your hopes and dreams for the coming year, as the world’s best surf photographers and emerging artists capture you on a journey in the Happy Days Diary 2011. To be launched on October 1, 2010, the Happy Days Diary combines a practical weekly diary with the stoke of surfing, the beauty of the oceans, the joy of art and the call for a sustainable world.

In a culture dependent on modern technological gadgetry to record reminders for meetings and important dates, Happy Days Diary 2011 defies digital trends and offers something for those who still like to scribble down their thoughts and ideas in note form. The diary features 200+ pages of street and surf art alongside surf spot descriptions, feature stories on the marine environment, and plenty of space for notes and drawings, with weekly to do lists and holiday dates.

Happy Days Diary 2011 features inspiring images by international surf photographers like Hilton Dawe, Ted Grambeau, and Steve Barolotti, alongside mindblowing photos and artworks by the likes of Celine Chat, Damian Fulton, Djuul Price, Frida Lezius, Heather Ritts, id-iom, James McMillan, Meegan Feori, and the tigapics collective to name a few.

Environmental consciousness places Happy Days Diary 2011 as a limited-edition run of 2000 copies, printed in Australia on Ecostar 100% recycled FSC certified paper with soy based inks.

“The Happy Days Diary 2011 is the new, fun, creative, intelligent, and positive companion for surfers, ocean lovers and green-minded people, or simply for those with a thing for surf and street art”, said editor and publisher, Marion Poehland. “We decided it was about time to come up with a practical diary to our own taste – that of the 20-45 year-old surfer who is environmentally aware and likes to be visually stimulated!”

Happy Days Diary 2011 also supports non-profit organizations on marine environmental issues that feature in the diary, including whaling, rainforests, climate change, plastic and over fishing – yet this focus is balanced. With its bright colours, abundant art and easy-going voice, the Happy Days Diary wishes to inspire, entertain and educate without being too serious.
