SECONDS LONGBOARD CLASSIC WRAPS UP 2010 KZNLSA SERIES
The SECONDS LONGBOARD CLASSIC wrapped up the first weekend of October at Dairy beach in 2ft offshore conditions. Conditions where tricky and wave selection was key as most waves raced along the super shallow sand bank. The high tide helped out a little, slowing the waves down and giving the surfers some chance to squeeze in a few turns and noserides before shutting down on the sand banks.....

The Ladies division was won by Traci Lee Phillips who has cemented her position in the number one spot of the KZN Longboard Series. Mia Hordyk has been gaining in confidence all year and it is showing in her surfing as she finished a close second, Madz notched up a third place whilst Jodie Kennedy rounded things up in Fourth.

The Grand Kahunas division was another close battle between rivals Hughie Thomas and Mike Larmont but in the end the judges gave Hughie the nod, Steve Van Der Merwe finished things up in third.
The Masters division saw Richie Rispel end off his unbelievable year in first place followed by Marcel Hoffman. Juan Pugen after taking some time off for his latest addition to his family finally back in a contest jersey finished a respectable third, and Andre Steyn (also a new dad) finished in fourth.
Grand Gilmore styled his way to first place in the Grand Masters division, Fred Le Roux surfing down a division ripped his way into second place. Marcel Hoffman nailed a few huge close out floaters to get the scores needed to finish in third and Dave Hansen also surfing down a division stoked in fourth place.

In the junior division Matt Law finished the year off with his first victory, in second Chesney Schmeltzer followed by Jamie Law, and Ndumiso in fourth.
The hotly contested Kahunas division was an all old show down, in the end it was SA Champ Craig Daniels that claimed first place, super stoked Fred Le Roux surfed well all event to finish in second, Colin Whitmore laid down some great turns to end in third and Brendan Callaghan after a fantastically consistent year rounded things up in Fourth.
The Open division saw Josh Schmeltzer blast his way on the best set of the day into an unstoppable first place , Brad Weare surfed his way into second , Brad Trickett in third and Scott Le Fevre in fourth.
The BAKE A PIE noserider was won by Richie Rispel with Brad Trickett in Second , Brad Weare in third and Grant Gilmore in Fourth..
Thanks again to Mark Van Straaten and Tyron Woods from GRACE FAMILY CHURCH for their involvement with KZNLSA, the SECONDS LONGBOARD CLASSIC was an awesome event.
Also thanks to Matt Lamont for all his effort into putting the raffle together, some R5000 was raised of which every last penny was given to Brad Weare to help fund his trips to Panama and Hawaii. KZNLSA wish him the very best and I am sure we will all be glue to the live internet coverage cheering him on.
